Double down means you double your original bet. And you receive only one card more. benefits..
Your aim is to get 21
so if your first 2 cards = 11.
You have a very good chance of hitting a card worth 10.
16 cards in the deck worth 10 There are 4 x 10, 4 x J, 4 x Q, 4 x K . which will give you 21. So you double your bet because there are good odds on you winning the hand or getting 21. The down side if you miss and get a 4 then you will have 15 and you will not be able to get another card.

what happens if the player busts and the dealer busts as well?
September 20th, 2009 at 10:07 pm
so if you buy insurance and the dealer has blackjack, you dont lose or win any money?
October 22nd, 2009 at 5:32 pm
all the figures J, Q, K have the value of 10, A’s is the only card that has 2 values, either 1 or 11.
October 23rd, 2009 at 5:07 pm
What if both you and the dealer go over?
November 1st, 2009 at 11:55 am
what is a push and when do you push?
November 4th, 2009 at 6:54 pm
it’s a tie in total card value between the player and the dealer. you ‘push’ when, if both you and the dealer have cards whose total value is, say, 19. you don’t win OR lose money, you just get your bet back.

if the player busts he loses straight away.. if the dealer busts and no one else does the player wins
December 11th, 2009 at 5:19 pm
since u play first, u lose the hand when you bust, u are no longer in the hand.there for if you are playing the dealer one on one(no other players on the table) he wont even draw, just deal a new hand.

@CrazyBeatboxer
that being the player thats closest to 21
December 22nd, 2009 at 3:32 am
if there’s seven boxes on the table, and none of them bust, and then the dealer does, someone with 6 will win. Not only 1 player wins.
I’m not sure whether you were implying that only person wins or not.
